I found out today that Norman’s wife is a doctor. How about that. How come I never knew that? I think he may be punching above his weight there — at least his intellectual weight. Anyway, he was telling me today that if his wife keeps going on about something at home and he wants her to stop, he pointedly picks out an apple from the fruit bowl, washes it, dries it, and then starts to chomp it in front of her. He says she never goes away, but that it amuses him. It’s the most amusing thing I’ve ever heard him say. I didn’t know he had it in him.
Speaking of doctors, I had my booster shot at the pharmacy at lunchtime today, which is like the doctor’s. After the nurse jabbed me in the arm, I asked her if I’d be able to play the piano tonight, and she said she didn’t see why not, so I said that’s good, I’ve always wanted to be able to play the piano. She didn’t laugh, just called in the next customer. Some people have no sense of humour.
Agnes and I had a relaxing night in front of the telly, although she went to bed earlier than usual. She said I should too, as tomorrow is a school day.
