Wednesday 9 September

Well, I had to have a smile tonight. I’d left the outside light on, as I was expecting Ian, and didn’t want him to break his neck on the stairs. Well, not on the way up, anyway. So, there’s a knock on my door, and there’s Megan, in her dressing gown and slippers, asking me if I can redirect my outside light, as it’s shining into her bedroom, and she can’t get to sleep. So, being the good neighbour, I redirected the light a little, so that it wasn’t disturbing the person who is never bothered by anything, including lights shining into her house. She said that that was better, so I told her that as long as she was happy, I was happy. I think she took me seriously.

Ian and I had a good night, despite the fact that he was wearing a ghastly pink shirt (he claimed it was salmon), mainly listening to music and chatting. I’m guessing the shirt was a present from his wife. I told him I thought his shirt looked ghastly and never to wear it to my house again. Then, a bit later, that song, ‘Don’t Tell Me What to Do’ came on. I mentioned to Ian that I loved that song, and he said that he had no answer to that comment. He also looked at me a bit funny
