Uberred into work this morning.
I rang the panel beaters today. The parts arrived yesterday, and now my car will be finished by the end of next week.
Also, Liz rang me. She spent ages going on about how she did so much work on the weekend, revegetating the area behind her house. She and her accomplices spend hours planting trees that grow to be huge, and they also get rid of all that untidy undergrowth, on what was a trackless desert for thousands of years. I told her she isn’t revegetating, she’s vegetating, gentrifying the place the way she likes it. There have never been any big trees there. I suppose saying she’s revegetating puts her on higher moral ground than saying she is vegetating. It also fools the local council into giving her grants for her projects. As a result of all her work, the large birds of prey love the place, although, strangely, there isn’t a frog, lizard or small bird to be seen in the area anymore.
The funny thing is she’s held up in public as a (good) example to all greenies, and her friends think she’s wonderful. She has plenty of energy. I’ll give her that. Her conversations alone tire me out. I think the world would be a lot better off if she had less energy and more sense, and if we didn’t have to put up with her condescending and apparently generous, anti-racist, anti-sexist, greenie lifestyle, which is in practice distinctly miserly, racist, sexist and any colour but green. (Is black a colour?) She would have made a great member of the Harper Valley PTA, with her schoolteacher’s superficial knowledge of everything. Some people are just born without any sense, aren’t they.
It’s strange at work without Agnes there.
No rain this evening, in fact it stopped as soon as I arrived at work yesterday. Ductile and a welcome email from Agnes were waiting for me when I arrived home. Agnes was hoping everything was OK with me, as she hasn’t seen me at Pilates lately. Apparently, she hasn’t missed a session, and says she’s feeling great.
