Could hear Ronald muttering in his office again this morning. I was silly enough to pay him a visit and ask him what was up. He showed me what he sarcastically called the scrupulously researched article on today’s news website that claimed that women find it harder to make time in their busy day to exercise than what men do. He suggested the article’s author should, rather than take a straw poll among the girls in the office, take a peek in the gym he goes to any Monday to Friday between 9am and 5 pm (I wondered where he goes at lunchtimes) and she would find it was packed with 80% women (dance classes, the gym, circuits, etc.). Ditto cafes. Ditto restaurants. Ditto the beach. Ditto nail salons, hairdressers and massage parlours. And good on them. But how come these so-called journalists can find paid employment when they have no skills in journalism. You know – research ability, impartiality, hunger for truth… Why are they hell-bent on trying to make women feel downtrodden? Do they think they’re doing them a favour, he asks?
I don’t know.
