Thursday 1 October

Donna’s saying of the month landed on schedule this morning. It was an old chestnut: a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. What am I supposed to do with that? I don’t think it’s going to turn my life around. Also, I can’t decide if Ian is in my hand or in a bush. What about if there are lots of birds in the bush, you know, like there are fish in the sea?

Uberred into work today, the excuse being that after work I was going to Uber to the panel beaters to pick up my car.

When I got to work, I rang the pbs, and of course they said my car wasn’t ready yet. They hadn’t received the parts! So, my car has been sitting in their yard doing nothing for a whole week, while I’ve been falling off bikes. Why don’t they get you to bring your car in after they’ve got the parts? They already know what they need. I’d be happy to pay a deposit and hang onto my car until they’re ready to do something with it. Looks like it’ll be at least another week. I hope my car is having a rest, because I’m not.
