Monday 14 September

Agnes had a day’s annual leave today (I didn’t even know she’d accumulated any), so she could move her belongings to her more suitable accommodation, with Onions’ help, of course.

Susan and I had a one-on-one mentoring session this morning, but I couldn’t really concentrate. It was all a bit intense without Agnes. Her main theme today was that I should learn to say ‘no’ to people, including at work, if that’s what I want or need to say. Apparently, I’m here to do my job, not to be liked, although the two can go hand in hand. If anything, I’m to aim for respect, not for being liked by everyone. OK.

Too bad Agnes wasn’t there. She could have explained it all to me in the car on the way home.

Speaking of home, it was spooky when I got here tonight. The place felt so empty. I’ve decided I don’t like eating my meals and watching TV on my own every night. Ian doesn’t really count. I’m going to have to change something.

Ductile didn’t seem happy either. She disappeared early in the evening.
