Tuesday 22 September

I didn’t sleep well last night, so I was late into work. The hardest part of the day is putting your foot on the floor in the morning, isn’t it? At least I missed Breadstick and Agnes in the lift. Unfortunately, Stuart was already in when I got there, and he thoughtfully asked me, in a loud voice, if I’d brought in the Herald. I didn’t know what he was talking about, but everybody laughed.

Stuart got back from Broome last night. I asked him how it went, and he said the highlight of the trip was watching the street sweeper go up and down the road in front of their hotel. He told Patricia it was the Broome broom, and they laughed and laughed. I was tempted to say did Patricia ride the broom home, but thought better of it.

He said the downside was that the trip has encouraged Patricia to go country and western, and he may have to file for divorce. I told him he’ll need more grounds than that.

Couldn’t be bothered to go to Pilates tonight.
